The Local Company Your Neighbors Have Been Calling for Decades

We live and work here. Our shop is on Mount Anderson Street in north Reno, our crews are people from around here, and your neighbors have trusted us since 1989. When you see our trucks in the neighborhood, that is not a company that drove in from out of state for the season.

That matters for driveway work more than most homeowners realize. A contractor who is part of the community has to answer for the driveways they install, because the people who own them are the same people they see at the store.

Driveway paving, driveway repair, and driveway sealcoating for homeowners across the area. Call us and you get a real person, not a call center.

Benefits of Professional Driveway Work

  • Curb Appeal — A smooth, dark driveway is the first thing anyone sees, and it changes how the whole property reads
  • Home Value — A well-maintained driveway is a visible signal to buyers that the property has been cared for
  • Years of Service Life — A properly built driveway on a solid base handles our winters for decades
  • Safer Footing — No cracks catching toes, no holes collecting ice, no uneven edges at the garage or walkway
  • Lower Long-Term Cost — Sealing and small repairs cost a fraction of replacing a driveway that was allowed to fail
  • Better Drainage — Correct slope moves snowmelt and rain away from your garage and foundation instead of toward them

What We Do for Driveways

  • Driveway Paving — New asphalt driveway installation, or full replacement when the old surface has reached the end
  • Driveway Repair — Patching failed areas, filling and sealing cracks, and correcting spots that hold water
  • Driveway Sealcoating — Protective sealing using Pitch Black®, the asphalt emulsion sealcoat we manufacture ourselves

Our Driveway Process

  • We Come Look – Someone walks the driveway with you, listens to what is bothering you about it, and gives you an honest read
  • Straight Recommendation – If sealing and a few repairs will get you five more years, we will tell you that instead of quoting a replacement
  • Preparation – For new work, the old surface comes out and the base gets built and compacted properly, because that is what determines how long it lasts
  • Drainage and Slope – We set the grade so water runs away from the garage and the house rather than pooling at the door
  • Installation – Hot mix placed and compacted with real equipment, the same standard we use on much larger jobs
  • Cleanup – We clean up after ourselves. Your yard should not look like a job site when we leave.
  • We Check Back – If something is not right, you call and we come out

Why Homeowners Choose Asphalt Protectors

  • Here Since 1989, Family-Run Since 2004 – A local family business, not a crew that disappears after the check clears
  • We Make the Sealer We Use – Pitch Black® asphalt emulsion sealcoat is our own product, sold across the country. You are getting the same material we put on major properties.
  • Honest Advice – We will tell you when your driveway does not need what you called about. It costs us the job and it keeps you calling us.
  • The Same Crews and Standards – The quality control we built for commercial work applies to your driveway too
  • Licensed and Local – Nevada Contractor License 0058389, with classifications covering paving of driveways and sealing of paved surfaces
  • You Can Reach Us – A real person answers, and if there is a problem we handle it

Driveway FAQs

How long does a new driveway take?

Most residential driveways are done in a day or two depending on size and whether the old surface has to come out first. We will give you a clear schedule before we start.

When can I park on a new driveway?

Usually a couple of days for regular vehicles, longer in hot weather. We will tell you exactly, and we would rather you wait an extra day than leave tire marks in a new surface.

Should I repair my driveway or replace it?

If the surface has cracks and worn spots but feels solid underfoot, repair and sealing usually make sense. If sections sink, flex, or keep failing in the same places, the base is gone and replacement is the real answer.

How often should I seal my driveway?

It depends on sun exposure and how the surface is holding up rather than a set schedule. When the color has gone from black to gray, the surface is losing its binder and it is time.

What is the best time of year for driveway work?

Warmer, dry months give the best results for both paving and sealing. We work a long season here and will be honest if conditions are wrong for your job.

Do you work on driveways outside of Reno?

Yes, throughout our service area across the region. Give us your location and we will let you know.
