SealingSpray Application - Unlike many others, Asphalt Protectors, Inc. uses the latest technology when sealing your business, street or driveway. We have developed a unique spray application system that allows us to apply two even coats of seal as recommended by the American Seal Manufactures Association (ASMA). The second coat ensures that all air voids created during the first coat are covered to ensure a solid bond.
Single application with a brush - Ever paint a room with one coat? Did you notice the air voids when you finished it revealing the surface below. Seal is the same. It exposes the asphalt to the ultra-violet rays (UV rays) and water. Would you paint your car with a brush leaving the high and low streaks for everyone to see? Asphalt is the same, using a single-brush application on asphalt creates a disproportionate surface allowing the ultra-violent rays and water to access the same surface you are trying to protect before your next scheduled maintenance.
Protect your investment - The 2 worst enemies of asphalt are UV rays and water.
- UV rays - Accelerate the aging process, breaking down the chemical compounds in the asphalt. Use only 100% opaque seal for full protection.
- Water - Dissolves the seal used to protect the asphalt, then lays underneath to freeze and thaw creating the alligator effect of failed asphalt that will grow if not repaired. Observe your sprinkler system. Do you notice an exorbitant amount of water pouring on the asphalt? Try reducing the length of each cycle and increasing the number of times you water the lawn.
Cracks
- Cracks due to the aging of asphalt are natural. As asphalt
ages, it shrinks creating unsightly cracks. The only way to reduce
cracking is to either protect your asphalt with a regular maintenance
schedule (reducing the aging process), or cut them out and replace
the voided area with new asphalt. So, take care of the cracks earlier
and avoid those expensive repairs later.Cracking can also be caused by no and/or poor preparation of the substructure. If an improper amount of base (compacted gravel or stone used to support the asphalt) is not applied or properly compacted, the asphalt will either pull away or sink. If this happens address it as soon as possible to protect your investment, because this will affect the structurally sound asphalt around the effected area.
